Spring Holidays Cultural Festival – To Reduce Violence And Intolerance

A three-day Spring Holidays Cultural (SHC) Festival, with no entry fees, has organizaed by Thespianz Theatre at the Arts Council of Pakistan and Amin House, from February 13th, 2015.

The event is a part of ‘I AM KARACHI’ campaign in order to promote peace and harmony and to reduce violence and intolerance in the society. This was announced by the Artistic Director of Thespianz Theatre, Faisal Malik at a press conference here on February, 04th, 2015 at the Arts Council. In this Festival, Cultural groups and well-known individuals came down to Karachi to perform in the festival. Famous poet Amjad Islam Amjad & Anwar Masood from Lahore, Dramatist Haseena Moin and writer Farhat Ishtiaql conducted sessions during the festival.

“An artificial Horse Dancing group from Multan, theatre group from Less privileged area and Atan Pashto Dance group from under developing areas has been performed in the festival.

There was a Dasstaan Goi (story-telling) session as well. Apart from this, string puppetry, handicraft stalls, food area and many more attractions were the part of the three-day cultural festival”.
